Aids Concern in Hong Kong is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) running a wide range of sexual health intervention programmes to combat AIDS. The stigma attached to HIV/AIDS acts as a barrier between people living with HIV/AIDS and service providers. Aids Concern’s soup delivery service aims to break that barrier by delivering free, homemade soup to patients. The making and offering soup has a powerful meaning in Chinese culture: it symbolizes the care and concern for a close relative. [source: AIDS Concern]
