We have a huge harvest of leeks. Great, of course, but how do you process all these members of the Allium family? At that moment in autumn, I always open the book 'De Geur van Witte Rijst' (‘the fragrance of white rice’) , and cook my aunt Bep's 'sambal goreng leek'.
Ayana massage: work in progress
Anouk, a midwife and masseur from Belgium, asked me to design a very simple website where 'greens' and 'earth tones' would predominate. Her logo had to depict hands and a reference to India.
Mailing: Artisan Home
WORK ~ Artisan Home, a company based in Drenthe that focuses on the sale of furniture imported from India, wanted to send both a digital and printed mailing with the latest news. A transparent envelope with a see-through autumn image, a matching sealing sticker. I chose colorful but faded roses. A transition to a new season.

Sentimental Journal #6: Coffee
I once asked for a ‘Turkish coffee’ in an extremely cozy little café in Beirut, Lebanon. The owner faced me with a friendly though unmistakable stare of admonition. ‘It’s called ‘Arabic coffee’, madam’. So this time, traveling the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and knowing I wanted to write about coffee, I decided to educate myself first.

Today, Ghada Sabatien was shot
Today I read in the newspaper that Ghada Sabatien, a widowed Palestinian mother of six in her forties, has been killed by Israeli forces. Shot because she apparently ignored soldiers’ calls and warning fire to stop approaching them and died from a torn artery and massive blood loss. No weapon was found on her body.
