A mother and grandmother

I was approached by a young woman from Australia, Khushi. She asked if I had photos of her mother and grandmother, Kalbelia from Rajasthan, India. She was born from a relationship between the cheerful young woman in this series and an Australian man. So I dug into my archives today. Here is a selection of her beautiful mother and grandmother, who unfortunately, has now passed away. Hope you like the photos, Khushi!

The Kalbelia are are an originally nomadic tribe from Rajasthan, India, known for their vibrant dance and music. Traditionally snake charmers, they embody a rich cultural heritage, often performing the energetic Kalbelia dance, which mimics the movements of snakes. Their colorful attire and captivating performances celebrate their connection to nature and spirituality.
