A mother and grandmother

I was approached by a young woman from Australia, Khushi. She asked if I had photos of her mother and grandmother, Kalbelia from Rajasthan, India. She was born from a relationship between the cheerful young woman in this series and an Australian man. So I dug into my archives today. The Kalbelia are are an originally nomadic tribe from Rajasthan, India, known for their vibrant dance and music. Traditionally snake charmers, they embody a rich cultural heritage, often performing the energetic Kalbelia dance, which mimics the movements of snakes. Their colorful attire and captivating performances celebrate their connection to nature and spirituality.
