Capturing Reality in a Digital Age
Isn't it fascinating how our world has changed? In an era where digital illusions have become the norm, we often find ourselves entangled in a game of ‘real or fake’? Our eyes, once trusted witnesses to reality, have transformed into the first skeptics. With every stunning photo shared online, the question inevitably arises: ‘Is this AI-generated?’ Amidst this digital doubt, I stand with my Sony α7R V in hand and the FE 70-200mm F4 G OSS lens as my choice for today. Zoomed in at 157mm, I captured a moment that challenges the boundary between the authentic and the simulated. With a swift shutter speed of 1/2000 second and a wide-open aperture of f/4.0, I managed to seize the essence of a fleeting instant. This image, has only undergone minimal editing—just a subtle touch with Topaz to enhance its natural beauty without compromising its authenticity. In a time when we are bombarded with perfect, AI-generated images, there is something undeniably precious about a photograph that captures the imperfect perfection of the real world. It serves as a reminder that magic still exists in the moment when a photographer and their subject come together, captured by nothing more than glass, light, and human touch. For those who wish to explore my photography further, I invite you to check out my Instagram: @mirjamletschphotography.
